Furry Friends Linky Party

I see "Linky Parties" all the time and think it looks like fun and I want to join up but not having done it before....I'm always afraid it won't come out right. However...this one is about your pets, so how can I resist?

Soaring Through Second

Ruby was a rescue. I knew nothing about German Shepherd's and it had been about 10 years since I'd done the whole puppy thing. It should have been a hint when the volunteers of the rescue group went to walk her. One of them said "I don't think she's ever been on a leash before". She was being pulled down the aisle all 4 feet splayed out like a polar bear. I think I was meant to find her because she was extremely challenging and luckily if nothing else, I have patience. I called my mom when we got home the first day and asked if they can perform exorcisms on dogs!? :)  We went through 4 trainers before finding one who understood her. She just loves my Dad-and he spoils her like a granddaughter!

People at work make fun of me because I talk about her the way people talk about their children. She is my child. She makes me laugh. Yesterday the water company was doing work on our street-putting in fire hydrants (basically making a mess of things). When we walked, we had to go from sidewalk to the street because there are big piles of dirt. I would tell her "over" the little streams of mud in the gutter. Today she did it without me having to tell her. Just sooooo smart. Definitely GT! :)

As a puppy-can't you see why I fell for her-we never thought she'd grow into those wonky ears!

Loves to play with hula hoops-good for me because they are cheap!

My little explorer.

My fearless girl-we don't get snow very often in Texas--she just laid down in it like it was white grass.

  1. Ruby is so beautiful! I've always been partial to shepherds but my husband felt like that was too much dog for him. Ha! I'm a new follower. :)
