One Little Word

I've never really been one for resolutions in January. I feel like our year starts over in August and I traditionally make classroom resolutions then. I like the idea of One Little Word-something to keep in mind throughout the year and always come back to. My first one was "inspire", last year it was "grace" (still working on that one by the way! :).

Linking up with:  http://sunnydaysinsecondgrade.blogspot.com  to reveal my One Little Word for this year.

Sunny Days in Second

I put a lot of thought into this--so many things I need to work on and so many great words out there. I chose:

I've always been one of those people who sits in the back and even though I may think I know the answer, I won't raise my hand and share it. I think I need to change that. As I'm getting older I see a lot of missed opportunities for sharing part of myself with people that way.

Bold in the classroom by doing what I know is best for my students, even if for example, it does not go along with teaching to the test.

Bold in life as finally taking the plunge and signing up for the volunteer work I've been saying I would do for years or that sewing class, or learning a new language.

Saying what I really think even if the person I'm talking to may not like it.

Bold. Fortune favors the bold and I could use some good fortune right about now! :)

What's your One Little Word for the year?

    1. That would be a fun way to do it too, I'm almost afraid to ask them! :) Last year I had them write words for themselves and they really surprised me with their responses.
