Dear Mr. Blueberry Activity

I find myself introducing books to my kiddos by saying "this is one of my all-time favorites" a lot! But this one really is. I remember being in a class during my teacher certification and having the professor read us this book. It's a story about a child writing to what I assume is her former teacher asking questions about the whale in her pond. I am introducing my students to the concept of multiple perspectives and I asked them what this imaginary whale would say to the main character Emily. I loved their responses-especially the illustrations:

  1. I love lots of things about this. One is that kindergarten kids can write! And even those who aren't ready for letters yet still feel like writers and that's key. Love this!
