Exit Ticket T-Shirts
As I reflect on the past year and the lessons I have learned, I ask my kiddos to do the same thing. We make t-shirts where they write about their favorite lessons from the year. I liked that so many wrote they learned to "be a friend" because I felt like I should have done more classroom community activities with this group. I was actually impressed at some of the units they remembered.

Those shirts are so great! I taught kindergarten for several years before teaching first and I too loved to challenge those little ones. I LOVE to see them writing sentences like this - sometimes I feel like there is too much focus on how little kindergarteners are and what they "can't" do instead of just letting them show you what they CAN do - because they can do a LOT if you just challenge them, maintain high expectations and give them the chance. (sorry that was kind of long... obviously you got me thinking :)

Tangled with Teaching
I completely agree Emily. I had another teacher once tell me--but they can only fit so much in their little heads. Hogwash! They will soak up anything you want to teach them about. Thanks for the comment! I really like your blog-glad to find it! :)

Think, Wonder, & Teach
This is a great idea! Thanks for stopping by my blog. I had my 5th and 6th graders do class motto tshirts one year, but I love the idea of writing about what they learned.
